KC3 Draft : Rail Transit

The rail is a good solution because they can bring a lot of citizens to their destination.  Although, it cost a lot of money to build.  For three dollars only, you can have a free trip downtown.  The rail transit stations will include features like, and entrance plaza, location and directional signage, stairs, elevators and escalators based on local conditions, ticket vending machines, and other features. This transit can help society in a positive way. The reason why it can help in a positive way is because it will help traffic decrease and citizens would be more happy because they finally can get to work on time, parties, etc.

When the rail transit is built, about 11,000 jobs will be created because of this project.  According to national statistics, for every $1 billion dollars of investment in transportation infrastructure, 28,000 jobs will be created. The transit will help the environment because there will be less pollution because thousands of cars will be taken off the road. The transit runs on electricity that can come from alternative energy sources so there would be a less dependance on oil. Lastly, the transit will provide around 90,000 citizens a day which would take approximately 40,000 vehicles off Oahu's crowded roads.

On the other hand, the rail transit has some negative points about it.  One reason why is because we would need to pay to help build the transit.  The transit will cause a disturbance to neighborhoods that live by the rail. The trail will also take away some of the beauty of the island because the transit would be blocking buildings, shops, etc.  This project is one of the reasons why we pay taxes, the tax money is used to pay to build this transit which is a big disappointment.

Oahu is too small of a city to build a rail transit and the population is only around 850,000 which makes Oahu the 49th largest metropolitan area in the United States. Other studies show that the transit will barely decrease the amount of traffic which is very upsetting. The travel times for automobile travel will be hardly decrease because the travel time of some of the transit stops to the other are approximately the same as if you were to drive in a car.  Their is a big possibility that car's, truck's, motorcycle's, etc. sales can decrease because citizens would use the transit to get to their destination.

All in all, I honestly think that we shouldn't have the transit because of the causes it will give out to the citizens of Hawaii.  Although, it can help the environment but, it can also hurt it just as much.

Querenica Draft

My Querenica is the dance floor.  As I walk into the room, I hear my favorite song playing and I run like I'm getting chased by a bull dog towards the dance floor. While rushing to get a spot on the dance floor, I see a variety of people, some short, some tall, some of them are wearing dresses, others are wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
When I finally get on the dance floor, I go all out!  Me and my friends do the dougie, the cat-daddy and fist pumping. "Im gunnah fist pump till my hand falls off!" Said, Kassidy and I.  We shouted the lyrics to the songs as well as the other people. As we dance, we see a mob full of people running to the dance floor and they look like their faces are morphed as they cool, air con blows their faces like a balloon.
But, as soon as they rush on in, I get away from the crowd because the scent the smell of juicy, barbeque ribs, smoky huli huli chicken and other entrees catch my attention.  I run between the tables as the cool air brushes against my face and grab a plate and start chowing down on the ono food.  After I wipe my lips with the nicely and delicately folded napkin, i approach the dance floor until they played a slow song.
I sat back down at my table, alone, no one to talk to, bored out of my mind. I decided to leave until someone finally asked me to dance.  I had a big smile almost 10 feet wide! Our dance got ruined because the DJ played a energetic, fist pumping song.
All in all, every night always ends good with a top hit song.

Roots And Recipe: Draft (Pancit)

Pancit is a filipino noodle dish that has been made for a very long time in my family.  When, we have birthday parties or just barbecue's, my grandma would always make her scrumptious pancit noodles. Every time theres a party at my house, I would always lay on my bed, text, go on facebook, and listen to music.  But, before my grandmother walks threw the front door.  I could smell the scent of my grandmother's steaming hot, just cooked pancit.

When I was a child, I would want to try my grandma's awesome Pancit everytime she came. But, my dad would always say, "mmmm! Yummy pancit! Tastes just like fish!" Then, I would hesitate to eat it and I would miss out on what I could of enjoyed for ages.  So, i waited for about 3-4 years to try it and now that I'm 14, it's time I suck it up and go for it! So, when I went over to my grandma's house after school, I got an opportunity to help my grandma make pancit!

I was so excited because I wanted to see what she puts inside it to make it taste delicious! I see her slicing the orange carrots, light green celery and cabbage, pork, shrimp, garlic and onions.  Then, I mixed the sizzling pork, shrimp and all the veggies and mixed the noodles when ready.  But, while mixing the ingredients together, I couldn't see because off the garlic and onions were burning my eyes! Then, she poured the soy sauce and two of her secret ingredients.  She said, "Do not put to much soy sauce or else it will become to salty." My grandma also told me that not a lot of people use the same two ingredients she does.

My grandma always told me stories about her pancit.  She said, "When I cook my pancit for my friends, they would always say it was better than restaurant's, or any other food place they've been to." I laughed and said, "I agree with you friends to."  I also wondered how long she's making this dish because she is sooo good at making it! :)  Well, she did love to cook this dish because she had to.  She also told me that she has been making this when she was 16!!

Overall, this experience of me cooking with my grandma has been great!  I've got the chance to learn how she makes so much of this delicious, mouth watering dish.  I also got the chance to bond and spend quality time with my grandma.  Im glad I got to do this because if I didn't go to my grandma's house that day or did the interview.  I don't think I would be able to know how to cook the best pancit till this day.

Roots and Recipe: Food Choice

Threw out my whole life I've had many family gatherings and we would always smell that hot, steaming smell of the spanish rice as my aunty brings it out of the house. Every time when I was a little kid, I would run to the food table and ask "where's the spanish rice?" :) Then, I would watch my aunty carry the pan of spanish rice out of the house.  Then, when it is placed on the table, I go ahead and scoop loads of spanish rice onto my plate.  We would never get tired of it because it was so scrumptious! :) This recipe holds so much memories of the past years that I will never forget. So, this is the dish I will be using for my roots and recipe project, and I will be interviewing my Aunty Pricilla.
